Hey there McMamas and Papas:
Yeah, spring weather has finally arrived AND the kids are back in school!
This coming week is Earth Day, and I am not really one of those earth-hugging mamas. In fact, I have a terrible habit of leaving water bottles all around my house (and now I collect them in my cubicle too). I keep talking about it, and one day I will really buy one of those cool trendy eco-friendly water bottles mentioned here. But, I do want to breathe clean air and for the planet to be around for my children and grandchildren--so I do believe in the whole Earth Day thing. Plus, I watched Hunger Games/Divergent and saw what a post-apocalypse world could look like, and it scared the crap out of me. And trees and flowers are pretty, and I love to wake up to birds singing every morning. Now, I sound like Snow White. Enough said.
Here are just some of our Earth Day Highlights:
Peace, love, and macaroni,

Here are just some of our Earth Day Highlights:
- Cool things to do with empty milk jugs (yes, we collect those in our house too, I am thinking of getting our own cow, but my cow is going to produce vanilla and chocolate milk too!)
- How to make recycled crayons, a t-shirt necklace or a cereal box flower garden
- Great tips on how to save energy and help the environment
- A recipe for Garden Dirt Pie (yes, this is an edible dessert)
- Check out our calendar below for all kinds of local Earth Day events, including several Monmouth County Park events
Peace, love, and macaroni,
Merri and Sheri
