The Super Bowl is a great time for family and friends to get together and enjoy good food, funny commercials, and of course - FOOTBALL! Check out these cool fun facts about this beloved event!

Did You Know?

  • A 30-second Super Bowl commercial costs somewhere around $2,800,000
  • 14,500 chips and around 8 million pounds of guacamole are eaten on Game Day
  • This is the biggest pizza day in America. On Super Sunday, we consume more pizza than the nations of Italy, Greece, and Romania did from the 15th century to the 18th century.
  • The average number of people at a Super Bowl party is 17.
  • The first Super Bowl was held in Los Angeles on January 15th, 1967. The GreenBay Packers beat the Kansas City Chiefs, 35-10.
  • 6% of Super Bowl viewers call in sick the day after the game
  • The Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys have been in the most Super Bowls--they each appeared in 8 of them!
  • Katy Perry is performing this year's halftime show. The biggest names in music (Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, The Who, Prince) have played the halftime show.
