Freehold Jewish Center - Upcoming Event

February 20, 2015

Following Sabbath Services on Saturday, February 21st at 9 am, the Freehold Jewish Center will host a Kiddush Luncheon to honor Larry Lubber for his many years of service to the synagogue and its community.

As a member for over twenty four years, Mr. Lubber was appointed to the Board of Trustees in 1992, became an officer and member of the Executive Board two years later and served as President from 1998 to 2000.

Apart from his official duties, he has been a bingo volunteer and has chaired the bingo committee for the past fifteen years.  The significance of bingo to the Jewish Center is that it funds a major portion of expenses to the congregation.  While serving in this capacity, Larry has also served as financial secretary, chaired the Rabbi Search Committee and participated in other important employee search committees.  He is currently a member of the Ritual Committee.

Having resided in Freehold for thirty years, Larry recently moved to Manalapan.  He has, and continues to serve on the Freehold Township Little League as a coach and is now umpiring and training umpire cadets.  His daughter, Jennifer, is a teacher in Silver Spring, Maryland and son Drew, a college student, is a Freehold Township volunteer fireman and an EMT with the Freehold First Aid Squad.

Those wishing to attend the February 21st Sabbath luncheon are asked to RSVP to the synagogue’s office at 732-462-0254 or on line: office@freeholdjc.org.
