Happy Friday everyone (well, at this rate, almost Saturday!). Sorry for getting out Macaroni Kid so late this week. It has been a crazy busy week with end-of-the-year projects at work, shopping for gifts, and holiday parties!
Last night, I had my company's holiday party in New York City, and it was so much fun that I am totally suffering today! I swear that I still think I am 21 years old--I was the first one in line for a flashy gold and black glitter tattoo on my wrist (my husband thought it was real!), I ate all kinds of miniature version of mac and cheese, meatloaf, chicken pot pie and macaroons, and danced for almost 2 hours straight. I totally had more energy than some of my colleagues 20 years younger than me!
I am excited to welcome in Chanukkah this week, and there are all kinds of fun Chanukkah events listed in our calendar, including menorah lightings and a holiday concert by the a capella group, The Maccabeats, at Shalom Torah Academy. I know that Chanukkah is near when all the goofy, corny, Chanukkah parodies show up on my Facebook Feed.
Two of my favorite Chanukkah parodies are:
1) By the Maccabeats (who as mentioned above are performing in Morganville this week!): A parody of Megan Trainor's "All About that Bass," is now "It's All About that Neis (Miracle in Hebrew)"
2) By 613: "Chanukkah" song to the tune of Taylor Swift's "Shake it Off." We're counting up to eight, eight, eight, eight...it's time to celebrate, brate, brate, brate.
Be sure to check out our calendar for all kinds of Santa sightings and menorah lightings!
Peace, love, and macaroni,
