Hello everyone, it is Merri here. Hope you are all doing well and are surviving the new school year! It was great meeting so many of you at Marlboro Day and hearing how much you love reading Macaroni Kid. It was especially nice seeing all my former Mommy & Me students who are now in elementary school! That was actually how I got all my initial Macaroni Kid subscribers more than 6 year ago...by doing Mommy & Me and storytimes at Shaari Emeth and JungleRRRific! I kind of miss sitting on the floor, shaking eggs and tambourines, singing Laurie Berkner songs, making glittery scractch-and-sniff art projects, and edible art (edible devil dog groundhogs were my trademark!). But, hey, the pay is just a LITTLE bit better at WebMD. But, I digress...

Speaking of 6 years ago when we started with only lonely subscriber (my mom!), we just officially hit GOLD DAISY status, which means that we have OVER 5,000 subscribers (5,060 to be exact!). Back then, we were just one of 10 Macaroni Kid sites around the country. And now, we are huge, with way over 500 sites around the country and Canada. Who knew I would be getting into something that became SO big?

I have made so many friends along the way (including my favorite friend Sheri!) and have received hundreds of perks like free birthday parties and shows. Sure, there are many times when I thought of giving it up, but I never had the heart to end it. Basically, it comes down to loving where I live (Western Monmouth County) and sharing my love of fun family things in our area.

Thank you to all the old-time subscribers for your continuing support and social media love. And thank you also to our new subscribers who just signed up--we love to hear from you to let us know what you want to see in our newsletter.

So, fellow MacMammas and Papas, here's hoping Hurricane Joaquim stays out to the sea. Stay safe and dry, and be sure to get to Wegman's before all the food is gone!

Once again, welcome to your source for local fun, with recipes, crafts, giveaways and discounts for children and adults!  Check out the calendar - filled with everything in the area!
